I lived in Stoke-on-Trent, UK until I was seven and then moved to Greece with my parents and two brothers. I went to Greek school right up until coming to Marjon and am fluent in both English and Greek. I'm currently in my third year studying Speech and Language Therapy and I'm absolutely loving it! it is an intense course but definitely worth all the studying! I'm still trying to decide which area of speech and language therapy to specialise in as there are so many areas to choose from!!
I'm a very sociable person and therefore, love being out with by friends at any opportunity I get! I'm frequently sat in some little cafe at the Barbican with a cream tea! I also love going out to pryzm for a dance!

Hi I'm Sam! I study business and going to be in my second year. I play american flag at Marjon and enjoy fitness and of course the sub. After graduation I'll be looking at going into property investment. I have suffered with mental health problems in the past, and I feel one big thing that helps me is helping others in the same situations I found myself in.

I have just finished my BA Primary Ed degree and progress onto PGCE Primary at Marjon in September. I have 2 young children and live in Saltash. I enjoy writing, specifically targeted to an audience of older children. I have a crazy Springer spaniel and love taking him for long walks. The early years is another specific interest area for me

Course: Psychology
Hobbies and interests: I love to read fictional, do arts and crafts, I love to cook and bake, I do keep fit once a week and I love problem solving.
Future job: I would love to become a Mentor or counsellor
About me: I am 21 years of age. I am a very open minded and approachable person. I like to try and think things in a logical manner and consider all options to a problem. If a problem arises, I deal with it fully but delicately. I have struggled with mental health myself so I understand how daunting university can be and how anxiety levels can easily rise. I am friends with mature students and I have always had close relationships with those older than me, as well as people my own age so I understand how hard and stressful it can be for all age groups at university.
In previous jobs I have been given the responsibilities of dealing with more difficult inquiries and customers as it was recognised that I have particular people skills in that area. I always seem to be the go-to person in my large friendship group when others have problems, as I approach their problems in a confidential, calm and logical manner. Having suffered anxiety myself, I also think it helps others, as I can relate to how they might be feeling when they are struggling. Despite this I like to have fun and enjoy light hearted conversations. I don’t really have a dark side!

Hi i'm Nick, I am a part time, MSc Psychology student in full-time employment. I am also a sport-loving, bell-ringing, motorcyclist enthusiast and volunteer.
I struggled in early life education and left home at sixteen, so I understand how daunting it can be. I feel I can help others who need support with my life skills and experiences, listening without judgement. I started my career as a chef in a private school, before joining the Royal Navy to see the world. I progressed in the Navy and left as a Bomb Disposal Diver. Then I joined the police and retired after a successful 30 year career. Since leaving the Police I have worked at Plymouth University as a Security Officer and I am just about to commence another career and continuing my studies."
