Welcome to the SLT Practice Placement Resource area - this space is designed to allow the Marjon placement team to share information, resources and links that support our Placement Providers.
This is a new area, replacing the old 'Placement Platform' and we aim to add to the resources here over the coming weeks.

- Clinical Education Training
HCPC stipulate that all placement educators who supervise allied health profession students complete appropriate clinical education training.
We offer both Basic and Advanced Clinical Education Training Days. These can be arranged to take place in SLT Service locations or at Marjon according to demand.
We are currently finalising the dates for Clinical Educator Training Days for the academic year 2019/20. As soon as this is confirmed, we will circulate the flyer to all Placement Coordinators.
If you do have any queries or would like to discuss training needs, please contact either
Jane Callard, Placement Lead, firstname.lastname@example.org
or Vicki Walters, Student Administrator, email@example.com

- Non-Medical (NMET) Placement Tariff
This is funding paid by Health Education England to placement providers to offset the costs of supporting learning in clinical practice for non-medical students.
Please see the attached document for more information.
- Practice Placement Quality Assurance
HCPC course validation is conditional upon Marjon meeting the standards of practice-based learning (SET 5). The standards aim to make sure that Marjon maintains responsibility for governance and quality assurance of practice-based learning, and that there are effective systems and processes in place to support it. This section contains documents that summarise and evidence the processes that are in place at Marjon developed in collaboration with placement providers.
(For specific information relating to the auditing process please refer to the following box.)

- Practice Placement Audit
This section contains information about the audit process in place to monitor the quality of placements.
There are guidelines developed by a range of health and care professional bodies and produced by the Health and Care Professions (H&CP).
In addition we have included the RCSLT National Standards for Practice-based Learning (SPLs 2006) and the tools based on this document:
1. the Planning and Self-Audit Tool for Placement Provider and Placement Educator (at team/organisation level).
2. a briefer version of the above useful for individual PE either as lone worker or to feed into the team level audit.
